International engineering consulting combines complex systems with regional and individual characteristics. As global development demands grow, the challenge is how to remain competitive. Standardization and digital transformation are key to increasing efficiency and ensuring resilient project delivery. This presentation shows how economic analysis, risk management and modern technologies intersect in international projects. By advancing standardized, digitally supported frameworks for full-cycle risk assessment, established practices can be reshaped. In cooperation with global partners, including the IPMA SIG (Special Interest Group) network, this approach fosters greater efficiency, transparency and impact in engineering consulting.
In the presentation Dr. Li Tao an his team will explain how combining standardization and innovation increases the precision and scalability of international engineering consulting. Participants will learn how new approaches in risk management integrate economic analysis with digital solutions. The presentation will also show how collaboration with global networks such as IPMA SIG improves industry quality and shares knowledge worldwide.
Dr. Li Tao is the Director of the International Business Department at China International Engineering Consulting Corporation (CIECC) and the Global Head of the IPMA SIG (Special Interest Group) on International Engineering Consulting. He is also a supervisor at the CIECC Postdoctoral Workstation and a doctoral supervisor at the CIECC Institute. With 18 years of experience in international project consulting, he has delivered hundreds of end-to-end advisory services for global projects. As an economic expert, he advises bilateral and multilateral financial institutions as well as project investors and plays a key role in promoting the standardization of international engineering consulting. His professional insight and impact are widely recognised in the industry.
