A team from Stellenbosch University has developed a practical framework with seven success factors for implementation in day-to-day project work. These include reliable data, transparent algorithms, intuitive user interfaces, organizational clarity – and most importantly, people willing to take responsibility.

The model was tested in a South African engineering firm and validated through a quantitative survey of over 30 project professionals. The findings are clear: companies integrating AI into projects need more than just technology. They need structure, trust, and a deep understanding of their own processes. Only then can AI reach its full potential –supporting decisions with more reliable data, in less time, and with greater predictive accuracy.
